New Zealand visa requirements for Nepali students

International students are not need to obtain a student visa in order to enter New Zealand to do a short course lasting less than three months. You must apply for a student visa if you intend to pursue full-time undergraduate, graduate, or phd studies in New Zealand.

The criteria for a New Zealand student visa include:

A proposal from a college or university that has been approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Committee.

A letter of acceptance from the New Zealand educational institution that includes information on the total tuition cost, the minimum course length, and the currency in which the charge is to be paid (domestic and foreign currency).

International students who are under 18 years old must provide a guarantee or evidence from a person or organization that they will have housing while they are studying in New Zealand.

You must provide proof of sufficient money to educate and live in New Zealand (1,250 NZD per month or 15,000 NZD for the entire year).
