IELTS

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is the most popular English Language proficiency test in the world for higher education and migration purpose. IELTS is recognized by more than 10,000 organizations globally. Governments from countries around the world like Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom use IELTS to process immigration applications.

 

There are two types of IELTS: Academic and General.

IELTS Academic - measures your level of English language proficiency for an academic environment which reflects aspects of academic language for study or training purposes.

 

IELTS General Training - measures English language proficiency in a practical, everyday context workplace and social situations for migration purposes.

 

For UK visa application to live, work or study, you may need IELTS for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Academic or General Training or IELTS for Life Skills test.

 

The test assesses 4 skills of English i.e. Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

  • Listening (30 minutes audio listening test with 40 questions to answer)
  • Reading (1 hour passage reading, 40 questions)
  • Writing (1 hour test, 2 writing tasks)
  • Speaking (13-15 minutes conversation with examiner)
